There is a bus that goes directly from Catania airport to Taormina. It leaves every 15 or 30 minutes from 8:15-18:45 (and then at 19:45 and 21:45) to Taormina, and costs €6.50. It stops at the Taormina Bus Terminus on Via Luigi Pirandello.
